Brief Description:  Wing Root Skin Doubler

Flipped the wing back right side up and reinstalled the top skin. Today's project was to add the wing root skin doubler which adds strength to the walkway on top the the wing (it's how one gets into the cockpit). I slipped a piece of .025" 6061-T6 aluminum (same thickness as the top skin) under the top skin, positioned it so that it:

- was flush with the aft edge of the rear skin,
- didn't overlap with the main spar flange (would be too thick for riveting), and
- protruded 30 centimeters into the wing locker opening to serve as a dzus strip (wing locker door fastener).

Cuts were made with an Olfa knife at about 20 strokes per cut. The skin doubler was placed back under the main skin, carefully repositioned, then drilled out.
