Cleaned up the garage and set everything up for my EAA Tech Counselor visit before closing the wing. His inspection of the wing was much more thorough than I had imagined (as in every-rivet-scrutinized thorough!), but it's confidence building to have him check it all in case there's something I missed and get a thumbs up. In all, everything was fine ("good attention to detail and great worksmanship"), but because of our discussions, I have decided to accomplish the following two fixes (in addition to several small techniques he offered):
- Upgrade the fuel feed line from 1/4" to 3/8" (planned engine factory recommendation) - Re-accomplish the swaging on the aileron and balance cables.
Everything I need will be arriving through the mail by tomorrow so it looks like the left wing will be finished by the weekend.
...then I'll need to figure out how to hang it off the ceiling...
