Brief Description: Aileron Bellcrank Access Port Cover
Assembled the left aileron bellcrank access port cover. This involves drilling out 8 holes spaced around the edge of the access port for fastening screws to pass through, riveting 8 nutplates to those screw holes to provide a threaded mount for the screws, then attaching the completed access cover to the access port in the wing.
I got to try out my new "dimpler" (image 2) which is used to dimple rivet holes before riveting them for those times you want flush-mounted rivets. Since this access port cover fits on the inside of the wing surface, the rivets need to be flush so that the cover fits tight against the inside of the wing surface (image 3)
The access port cover with screw and rivt holes drilled out. Note that the rivet holes are dimpled.
The 8 nut plates riveted to the cover. The vise clamp dimpler used on the rivet holes is to the left.
