Brief Description:  In the Beginning

In the summer of 2010, I attended a fly-in at Brodhead, Wisconsin. There, many pilots and enthusiasts of Pietenpol aircraft assemble each year. The Pietenpol Aircamper is a single wing, two seat aircraft designed in 1929 by Bernard Pietenpol. Today there are hundreds built around the world. They are a wood and fabric aircraft built from scratch. There are no Pietenpol kits available.

Soon after my trip to Brodhead, I purchased the plans and began my build. It is a monumental task that only about 20% that try, complete. With the help of aviation friends, skilled colleagues, a local EAA chapter, a technical advisor, a Pietenpol internet forum, and the support of my wife and family I am proceeding forward.

This is a log of that progress. Since my first log was lost in cyber space I will post miscellaneos pictures from the past along with current pictures of my progress.
