Brief Description:  Prop Extension

What should be an easy task turned into a bit of a problem. Before installing the cowling, you need to know where the prop and spinner will be. So, you need to add the prop extension. The dang thing wouldn't go on.

I tried polishing the cank shaft flange studs with scotchbrite and even tried coating the parts with a bit of lubricant. No luck. The extension would start on one side then bind. I kept working with the scotchbrite to take off a minute bit of metal.

Finally, I coated the parts with Tri-Flow and the extension slid right on. I don't think it was the Tri-Flow as much as it was getting the thing on straight.

I was able to pull the extension and ring gear off and put them back on again... so I think everything is good to go.

I used some old propeller bolts to hold everything in place.
