Before I headed home, I wanted to see how the relays would fit. I had installed the doubler plates in the morning and went onto installing the vents. I bolted them in place with the copper bars and they look great.
Next, I drilled the holes in the firewall based on the plans. I measured the placement of the holes one last time, then drilled them.
I made a slight indentation where each hole was to be drilled. (The drill bit wants to dance around on the stainless steel.) I started by drilling a small hole. (Using plenty of Boleube) Then drilled a 3/16 inch hole. From there on I used a step drill with plenty of Boleube. The bit was sizzling... even though I let it cool down during each hole.
