This afternoon, I worked on the doublers. I riveted the doubler for the gascolator in place. (No easy task) After it was installed, I spent about 20 minutes fabricating the doubler for the master relay and starter relay. The difficult part came when drilling the holes in the correct place. I installed the nut plates on the stiffeners for each relay and temporarily installed them. Then, I marked the place where the hole for each of the other bolts should go. (I drilled a pilot hole into the firewall.) I used this pilot hole to align the doubler.
I drilled all the holes for the rivets and enlarged the holes for the bolts. Then, drilled for the doubler nut plates, countersunk the appropriate holes, and zapped the part with primer.
