Started out marking and drilling the F-989 elevator pushrod. We used a jig Cormac's friend Ben built for us. It holds the pushrods while drilling. Put the 6 pull rivets in the pushrod. It's done except for the priming of the outside.
Cut the rest of the pushrods - Rear elevator pushrod (1) - Aileron pushrods (2) - Aileron wing pushrods (2)
Each was carefully measured and cut. We ended up using the hacksaw in a miter box. It actually worked very well.
After the ends were deburred, the rod bearings were test fit.
I took the pushrods home to prime the inside. (Where it is nice and warm)
Next, we started work on figuring out the dang elevator bell crank. (This thing is confusing!) - The bushing needed to be reamed to the size of the bolt. Cormac took it over to another hangar and had Bob use a lath to carefully ream the bushing. The attach brackets also needed to be reamed.
