It feels great to get back to work. I continued on the canopy frame this afternoon. I put in a dozen pull rivets on the back side of the cabin frame. (I'm going to put the rest in when it is in place. (I figure that way it can't shift any.)
- First I needed to trim the fuselage canopy deck for the tip-up canopy as per dimensions in drawing 18. I used the dremel cutting tool to sneak up on the dimensions, then used a files to fine tune. - Used the dremel tool to notch the frame for the angles. It took plenty of trial and error but ended up OK in the end. - Squeezed the keeper rivets in the angles after carefully setting the spread by clamping them to the frame. - I used the belt sander and file to shape the angle to the canopy shape.
So far, the dimensions are correct. I checked out the height of the frame and it is within a 64th. The width is perfect.
