Brief Description:  Right Elevator Stiffeners to Skin

Another day of 'experience.'

Dad came over this afternoon to help with the back riveting of the right elevator. Everything started out great. We worked great together as a team. We started back-riveting the top of the elevator and it looked OK, but not great. When we were working on the bottom of the elevator, I tried to get the 'sets' to look better and managed to REALLY screw them up.

What I have learned -
- When back riveting thin skin, DON'T apply too much pressure to the rivet gun.
- Keep the rivet gun perfectly vertical.
- Let the rivet gun do the work. (Again, don't apply too much pressure.)
- You really need TWO people to back rivet the elevator.
- Prying the skins apart don't seem to hurt them.
- ELEVATOR SKINS ARE EXPENSIVE!

The skins are probably OK... but I put in an order for a new right elevator skin and stiffeners. (Another learning experience:-)
