The fiberglass ended up looking great. I removed the tips from the plane. Then, removed the poly ply and the foam.
I then cleaned everything out well and reinforced the covering and trimmed.
*** When I did this, the fiberglass came away from the tip a bit. I didn't get it back into the exaxt position and they will need to be redone. Of course... I didn't know it at the time.
