To know the height of the the avionics, I need to know how much room the switches are going to take. To protect the circuit board, I decided to build a tray. (It sounded simple when I thought it up. It turned out being a bit more complicated.) I wanted the tray to fit as close to the circuit board as possible. So, I'm planning on putting a sheet of rubber between the circuit board and the aluminum tray bottom. When I have the swtich depth finalized, I'll drill the suppor holes.
The tray keeps the circuit board from hanging from the switches.
