People driving by the hangar must have thought I was nuts today.
The rain let up for a bit so I rolled the plane out into a clear area. Then, hopped up in it and fired up the Skyview. I moved the antenna around to every location I could think of. The best location is either up on top of the back of the plane or in the area I was planning to put it. In both places, it would pick up 10 satellites. (On the dash, it only picked up 9.)
It was so cool to see the Dynon come to life. Once it picks up a satellite signal it generates the synthetic view of the landscape. I grabbed the tail of the plane and pointed it in different directions while I watched the screen. It is AMAZINGLY accurate.
It started to sprinkle again, so I had to roll the plane back in its home.
