Brief Description:  Engine inspection/teardown

I picked up a corvair engine on Sunday for my project. I stayed late after work on Monday to take off the outer sheet metal and some engine parts to give it a better inspection. Looks real good so far. Looks like the engine has been rebuilt or maybe new heads put on at some point as is evident by the "over heat" tell tale glued to the head. This is commonly installed on rebuilt engines and heads to tell the shop warranteeing the work if it has been over heated at any time. It is still good so no concerns about it being over heated! The mice have vacated the engine so now its up to me to fix it up. So far it looks real good and my only concern is if the crank has been reground to far. Wont know till I get it tore down farther. See some pictures bellow. Im looking forward to building this part of the plane more than the rest, its a lot more familiar for me and more in line with my expertise!
