I decided to mount the XM antenna for the Garmin GPSMAP396 behind the firewall under the cowl bonnet. Where it will have a good view of the sky through the fiberglass and be out of the weather. So I fabricated a simple aluminum bracket out of some .032 2024 T3 sheet metal. And riveted it to the firewall. Then bolted the antenna to the mount.
