Brief Description:  Instrument panel installation.

I wasn't really pleased with having the GPS mounted below the L/H EFIS display. I originally wanted to have it at the top of the avionics stack in the center of the panel. But there wasn't enough room. Until I realized that the throttle didn't need to be in the panel like the plans show. So I decided to mount the throttle below the panel to give me the space I need to fit the GPS into the radio stack. With the throttle out of the panel I moved the EIS to the bottom of the panel where the throttle was. I then cut out the locations in the panel for the Garmin Comm and Transponder with the panel dock cutout above. I then fabricated a couple of aluminum stiffeners for the avionics stack. And located, drilled, and countersunk the stiffeners and panel. Then I relocated the GPS panel dock to the center of the panel and drilled up mounting holes in the stiffeners. The I fit the radio and transponder in the panel too. Since my radio stack is in the center of the panel and not offset as shown in the plans. I had to fabricate my own instrument panel braces from some aluminum angle stock. Attached to the avionics rack stiffeners and the firewall tubing.
