I didn't like the look of the sheetmetal wing root fairings called out in the plans. Instead I decided to go with custom fit fiberglass fairings. So I used some masking tape to fill in the gap at the wing root leading edge. Then used some modeling clay and contoured to a smooth transition. After the clay has a chance to dry, I'll sand it and apply the fiberglass over the clay.
