Brief Description:  Fabricated ELT/ADS-B shelf

(This entry written 07/18/2016 from handwritten notes but did not record hours. The estimated hours may be inaccurate.)

The left side of the shelf, as seen in pic #1, will rest on the flange of the same rib that the pitch servo bracket is attached to. Two of the four bolts that attach the ELT tray and straps will go through the rib flange, screwing into nutplates installed on the otherside of the flange. The member that ties the unequal length legs together on the other side of the shelf (with copper clecoes inserted, see pic #2) will be riveted to the stringer on the left side of the fuselage. The shelf was framed with surplus 1/8"x3/4" angle. The gussets (032 Al, if I recall correctly) attach the unequal legs to the shelf and stiffen everything up very firmly. In pic #3, one can see four platenuts that will receive the screws to hold the Dynon ADS-B box.

Pictures were taken with the shelf on our georgous new granite countertops. Full kitchen remodel was done from Oct to just before Xmas. A good reason why I won't get the ADS-B box unti later!
