Dynon fora recommended grounding the yellow wire sensing line that goes to the Red Cube. If all is well in the EMS unit and wiring, tapping ground sends pulses and causes the fuel flow counter to advance--which it did. OK, if 12V and Gnd are good (red and black wires, respectively), then the Red Cube has a stuck impeller, dead electronics, or whatever. In the course of cutting the heat shrink away from the PIDG knife splices, the red wire pulled out of its knife. Turns out the insulation grip part of the terminal had cracked off from the wire gripping part as well. Odd, first time I've come across a bad crimp/mishandled terminal/defective (?) terminal.

Anyhow, black wire was solid to FoT ground and the red wire had +12.2 V with the bus turned on. To put things back together, I decided if one knife splice was bad, they all may be, so I changed to Dsub barrels and pins to make new splices. Once it was all together again, the fuel flow sensor was alive, and showed nearly the same flows (+/-1 gph) as the measured values of each tank from yesterday.

Pumped out the right tank so it could be calibrated. Level attitude (+1 deg deck angle, actually) unusable fuel was about 2 fl oz. Emptied the left tank with the boost pump (it had most of the fuel from being filled last week) and used paper coffee filters in a funnel transferring the pump fuel to other jerry cans. (No visible hunks of anything evident in any of the paper filters.) Once empty, the left tank (level) unusable fuel was about two times more, 4.2 fl oz.

Calibration of the right tank was completed without issues, and I called it a day.
