Brief Description:  Landing light lenses

Enlarged the bracket mount holes to #12 (0.189") and riveted the 10-32 nutplates to the ribs. Marked and trimmed the landing light lenses with the bandsaw, then with the belt sander "to the line", then hand sanded w/150 then 400 grit paper to get a perfeck-tily smooth edge. Filed and smoothed the upper reinforcement strip for the right wing so it would fit around the shop heads of the repair plate. Located the upper center hole on the lens, Using the tape handle per the LL instructions.

I rolled my own plexiglass bits by grinding a taper on the end of two dull #40 & #30 drill bits. Drilled the center hole to #40 on the drill press. Placed the lens back in to pick up the other two screw holes, then drill them on the drill press. Outlined the upper edge of the lens to the funky shape of the reinforcement strip, then cut and smoothed the right lens to match. Put the lens back in place (do you see a theme developing?) to locate further cut-outs for two shop head at either edge.

After much cutting and fitting, enlarged the holes in the lens to #30, then to 5/32" (had to grind one of my "good" drill bits for this). Counter-sunk these holes to accept and 6-32 screw dimple in 0.025 Alclad. Enlarged the holes in the skin to #30, #28, and dimpled for 6-32 screw.

Installed platenuts on the reinforcement strips after enlarge center hole to #28. Ran a standard aircraft 6-32 screw w/Boelube thru each platenut so the more brittle stnlss screws supplied w/the LL kit won't break.
