Brief Description:  Rear spars; aileron bellcranks assy

Washed the tie-down bars and rear spar components in Dawn, applying elbow grease with the scotch brite to scuff up the surfaces well, then dipped 5 minutes in AFS aluminum etch and rinsed. Did main spar cleaning outside on side patio; too big for the sink! Stirred the AFS Primer and shot the parts. Nice hot sunny day, so by the time I had cleaned up the gun, parts were pretty much dry. Five hours of work!

Assembled aileron bellcranks. Had to ream the brass bushings to 0.249 for bolt to go through. Eased the wledment ends so the bushings protruded ~1/64th each end. The tubes in the weldment that receive the bushings are a little distorted so there is more friction than I think there should be.

I went ahead and bolted the tiedown bars and aileron bellcranks to the main spar; torqued and sealed all the bolts. Will ream later if the friction doesn't ease off after exercising the cranks.

Drilled #40 and dimpled the hole in the rear spar that the reinforcement fork will interfere with if not done now. Riveted the rear spar components together.
