Brief Description: Pushrods; Right wing bottom inboard skin
Riveted the elevator and aileron pushrods pcs that were primed yesterday. The skinny elevator rod's end studs were a very close fit. Once tapped in (used a socket for even distribution of the force), and cross-drilled, I figured the small amount of swarf in in the tube was tolerable. On the aileron pushrods, I was able to blow out the swarf with compressed air.
No, didn't coat the insides with Boeshield. Just brushed on a thick coat of primer on the joints and into the pop-rivet recesses. I'll also brush on a coat of thinned epoxy the next time I mix up a batch. There's not much moisture in the tubes after baking in the garage all summer, so I'm sure the rods won't corrode to failure sooner than 150 years from now...
Began riveting bottom inboard skin w/Karl--about half-way done when it was time to quit for dinner.
