Brief Description:  Horizontal stabilizer

Fixed several rear spar HS to-skin rivets. Installed AD-4-7 rivets on the #1 nose ribs/front spar/#1 main ribs. Used universal rivet set in the the gun and bucking bar. Couldn't fit a squeezer in this one. Plans call for AD-4-8, but two clenched over. Drilled out a perfectly good -7 by mistake! It had a distorted, oversized hole in the end. Decided to use a small piece of Al from left-over trim-tab hinge to form a "backstop" for the shop head on this rivet. Drove an AD-4-8 with no clench with this backstop in place.

Spot primed a few scratches on the rear spar. Used the touch-up brush to prime the VA-146 bearing, then riveted it between the pair of HS-911 inboard brackets. I installed the hinge brackett assy to the rear spar, just snugging the AN3-5A bolts. Need to torque them up...when I get a decent torque wrench. 20-25 in-lbs is the smallest graduation on my Sears bending beam wrench!
