Brief Description:  Rudder skeleton

Went forward to prep some rudder skeleton parts:

Clecoed R-904 bottom rib to R-902 spar. Enlarged the center hole in the R-904 web to 3/8" with a unibit. Fabricated R-917 shim per dwg 7. Top holes for Rudder Horn R-405PD were already drilled, so did not have to bolt rudder horn to spar as stated in the plans.

Proceeded to cut excess matl from R-710 rudder brace. Clecoed and assembled all of the parts at the intersection of R-902 and R-904, viz., the brace, horn, and reinforcement plate R606PP. Radiused the upper edge of rudder horn on a belt sander so flange of bottom rib was flat against the spar. Attached the other reinforcment plates R-607PP and R-608PP to the spar and #30 match drilled the lot.

Fluted and straightened the R-903 tip rib and R-912 counterbalance rib; clecoed both to spar and drilled to #30.

Clecoed the R-913 counterbalance skin to the skeleton, but did not match drill the #40 holes.
