Brief Description:  HS-spars cskng; prep spar edges

Finished countersinking HS spars. Used small scotchbrite wheel in drill press to deburr/polish lightening holes in spars as well as long and short outside edges. Probably better to use hand-deburr knife on the long edges?

On one spar, started buffing out superficial scratches in the Alcad. Perhaps went a little overboard with the red scotchbrite pad? I rubbed enough so that the long marks in the Alclad made by the bending brake were gone--that maybe takes off all of the Alclad? The spar is going to be primed, but probably don't want to take it all the way down to the alloy Al. Several net postings say scuff before prime with grey scotchbrite pad (done during the detergent wash step).

Tried the hand deburr knife on an HS skin edge--that will be the way to go for skins! Want to avoid scotchbrite on the edges--especially not a powered wheel--lest the outer or inner Alclad get scuffed. Need advice on how much buff-out--if any--of the few scratches on the skin's inner surfaces is needed. Would like to avoid any primer on the skins (for weight).
