Brief Description:  Elevator counterweight rework, III

Sanded and reprimed primed the whole elevator tip. Requiured one more spackling with micro, then sanded to 320 grit dry. Good old gloss white rattle-can Rusto for a top coat and it's done.

I removed the bolt through the elevator rod end and elevator horns, and loosened the bolt through the ball bearing so both elevator halves pivoted on their rod bearings in the rear horiz stab spar. The left elevator balance was dead on. No placed it and any angle full down to full up and in between--no motion.

Not so on the right elevator. It was forward heavy (pivoted to full up). Had to take the bolts out of the two extra nutplates as well as removed a couple oz of lead to get it back to balance. The electronic kitchen scale, reading to 1 g, was accurate enough to bring in the left elevator on the first go. Must have messed up the math for the right one.

Hooked up the elevators to the control pushrod, torqued the rod-end and ball-bearing bolts, installed the empennage and she's ready for 1st flight.
