Brief Description:  Emp fairing pics

Uploading pictures of the emp fairing taken 11/4/2017, after the joint between the left and right halves was contour sanded with 60 grit paper wrapped around a baton of 1" PVC pipe.

The restored "lips" around the horizontal stab fit tightly to the skin, as laid-up-in-place fiberglas is wont to do. But the outside needs to be filled and faired into the rest of the fairing. Fair is fair, right?

So mixed up a batch of micro and plopped more or less equal portions on the lips and surrounding surfaces. Set the fairing on a table with nose end down, leaning against wall behind table, to cure. The micro was dry and thick, but any residual flow before full cure will move material from where it would be sanded back to the original surface anyway.
