Brief Description:  Close left tank...and a horrible discovery

Wiped down the fuel pick-up tube cover and the tank surfaces it goes to w/MEK. Mixed a batch of proseal and buttered the cover and the tank. Slipped the cork gasket onto the cover, index with a couple of the screws, then mounted the cover on the tank, with the screws ensuring alignment. Dunked the (MEK-soaked) screws in goop and drove them home. Used the rest of the goop to encapsulate the other row of flush rivet shop heads. Whew, first tank is done...

Oh shit. Last night, when I came back from dinner, I neglected to put the top of the tank away from me, so when the marks on the z-brackets were also placed away from me, they would be aligned correctly. But the top was facing TOWARDS me...so the z-brackets are backwards!

Thought of several alternatives and sent an e-mail to Van's Tech Support to see what they think of them...what an absolute brain fart!
