Brief Description: Right Elevator TE, start Right Elevator
Put the right elevator trailing edge AEX wedge into position. I drew the "fastener line" per instructions, 1.4" back from front edge, but that didn't leave 1/32" hanging out the back. Decided to go with the 1/32" hanging out.
Drilled a block of maple with several #40 holes on the drill press with the table tilted 6 degrees (used smart level to measure) to use as a guide for drilling the AEX wedge. Attached the previously drilled Al angle to the edge of the bench, and after drilling the first hole in the AEX, clecoed the elevator assy to the angle. Finished drilling all the holes, then deburred and dimpled the right elevator skins, and countersunk the AEX wedge with the maple jig (see 2006-09-05 entry). Clecoed the trailing edges and AEX wedge back together with the Al angle. Right elevator ready for Pro-Sealing and final riveting.
Started to rivet the left elevator CW skin to the tip and CW ribs, then the guests arrived for Xmas dinner!
