Brief Description:  Right and left elevator

Drilled all remaining #40 holes in right elevator. Chose which holes on bottom spar would be CS4-4 blind rivets to drill #30. Also drilled holes where ctrwt skin and elevator skin meet that will attach fiberglass tip to #30. Disassembled. Partial reassembled the skeleton to get the hard to reach #30 holes for inboard ctrwt rib to main spar.

Drilled out rivets holding root rib to main spar. [Drill thru 1/16, drill just thru mfg head w/#30, snap off head with #30 pin punch--works great--no hole damage at all.]

Deburred all holes and dimpled all. Need to polish edges, prime, and right elevator will be ready for final assy.

Assembled all the parts of left elevator. (Riveted root rib and main spar as for left elevator.) Fabricated the E-921 gusset from 0.063 2024-T6 Alclad. Taped a 3/16" drill bit to the unbent gusset and clamped in vise. Used a block of wood and hammer to bend. Fit the bend to match the blue plastic outline on the top skin (same angle as the skin because I solder-ironed off a consistent thickness from edge). Bend didn't come out right in the middle of the gusset, but I think it will be OK.
