Brief Description:  New QB flap; awful pitot/static leaks confirmation

Image 1 was what was on my front porch coming home yesterday. Huzzah, a new 9/9A QB flap from Vans. The crate was 3/4" pine boards with 3/8" plywood top and bottom, tacked down with drywall screws every 12" or so. Absolutely no blemishes from shipping. Installed w/out any problems and and now ailerons and flaps are all aligned perfectly. Will post a pic later.

Bought a plastic medicine syringe from CVS. Used thin layers of EZ-Turn on the rubber squares and shank of the syringe hose clamped to the latex tube, but couldn't pressurize the pitot to more than 120 KIAS. Leak down was about the same as measured yesterday. Conclusion: there's a leak between the pitot tip and ADHARS--in spec but disconcerting nonetheless--that needs to be tracked down and remedied.

Using the syringe on the static system showed UNACCEPTABLE leak down. (Alt Static toggle was, in fact, off.) Will track down the leak after first engine start, when bulkheads and seat pans are open again in readiness for final inspection.
