Brief Description:  Potpourri: emp fairing, drain holes, aileron & fla

Ten hours across 28 and 29 October.

Nose gear fairing epoxy "custom fit" has cured. Secured with hose clamp.

Emp fairing cured in place. Left all clecos and straps in place. Sanded exterior area where a "splice" over the joint between the separated left and right halves will go, and where new lay up for the l.e. "lips" go; cut some FG strips, mixed up some epoxy, and did the lay up.

Next day, fairing was cured. Release well from waxed tape on horiz stab etc. Sanded off micro squeeze-out. Sanded interior to lay up a few more strips to strengthen the "splice". Removed tape from emp. and vacuumed, then retaped again so the internally reinforced emp fairing could cure in place, guaranteeing no distortion.

Finished drilling 1/8" drain holes on the uphill sides of tail cone bottom. Also put drain holes beneath the baggage area and cockpit seats.

Hooked up ailerons, starting with the left. W-930 tool used to set aileron to the tooling holes, then adjusted main pushrod length until stick was straight up and down in the cockpit. Right aileron was set up with W-930 when the autopilot servo was installed. So clamped left aileron in tooling-hole neutral position, moved the tooling-hole gauge to the right wing, and adjusted right main pushrod to zero the right aileron.

Flaps will NOT be straight forward, Upper rod ends can't be removed. Have to unscrew and re-screw the lower "right angle" rod end to make adjustments, which means lowering the flaps to get access when the previous adjustment isn't enough. Lots of ups and downs ahead.
