Brief Description:  Wings on!

Got back from the eclipse trip early this morning. Karl picked us up at KOAK and had nothing on his schedule--lets put the wings on!

The right wing would only go about 1/4" in on the bottom. Shaved off a bit more from the aft spar webbing with the Vixen file (a bit beyond the bevel that the instructions specifically authorize), followed up with Scotchbrite and then a liberal spray of LPS.

Then I remembered, keep jostling up and down.

With Karl at the end of the wing, I could see slow and steady progress of the spar stub going into the carry-through--until the rear spar stub was just not going to get past the fork it plugs into. After more head scratching, decided that the fork's tines could be bent back 1/32-1/16" with the seaming pliers. Shazam! Next attempt went all the way, Two 5/16" drift pins (one top, one bottom) sercure the wing in position for now. Once the pin gets started, constant jostling while tapping the pin through moves things along quite nicely.

Now that we knew what we were doing, the right wing went on in no time...even with Hal and Melissa from hangar 95 stopping in for a look-see.
