Brief Description:  Finish Kit Day! Part II

Well, Roadrunner wasn't going to bill me later for the $223.86 and let me drive off with the crate, so it had to come off the truck. Son of a glitch! Talk about loadus interruptus...

Nearest ATM was about a mile away. Thank goodness the freight was < $300, or I would have had to drive all the way back across Livermore to P-town to get the checkbook from home. (The depot is in a light industrial/warehouse park just north of LLNL.)

When I got back, as I feared, it was an around the office deal, searching for change. The ATM was quantized at $20, so with one of the fives from my wallet, I handed over $205.00. I was about to tell them just to keep the $1.14, until I (finally) looked a little more carefully at the invoice. Wait a minute--I'm being charged for a residential delivery and liftgate service--sixty bucks?!

Well they found change, and after I pointed out this was most definitely not a residential/liftgate delivery, they gave me back three twenties. Loading up a second time, the previous forklift guy had just gone off shift, so I coached the new operator on how I was certain the crate would fit in a C1500 full-size bed, and how to get the sucker in.

Once home, Karl being out w/friends, I opened the crate while still in the truck bed and removed the contents. Whew! Engine & Finish kit delivered (by me!) the same day. Inventory tomorrow, time for beer!!
