Brief Description:  Fuel line cover/cockpit heat diffuser

Fit up the parts for the F-982 fuel line cover/heat diffuser. Also modified the fuel valve plate (won't have manual elevator trim) and fuel valve cover. Riveted parts together off plane and without priming. Will prime/paint the exposed surfaces off the plane. Again, these are "out of the weather" parts so leaving unseen surfaces unpainted (saves weight) and faying surfaces unprimed (these are all Alclad parts!) is no big deal. Set the F-982 cover into place and drilled holes in the floor stiffeners that will hold the assy in place. I had some issues with an angle drill bit coming apart (the bit and 1/4-28 screw thread are brazed together--not very well!) and severely distorted/enlarged one of the holes in the F-982 assy. Since this 0.020 thk part is not structural, I don't think it will be a big deal to have moved the holes (with a drill bushing) to the proper location and fill in the gap with JB-Weld.
