Brief Description:  Weight and ballance/Final inspection

Today I carried out the final inspection of the aircraft IAW the Recreational Aircraft Associations approved final check sheet and supervised by Allan Parsons,a local delegate from the RAA.The inspection went with out any issues and all catagories complied with 100%.A duplicate flight control inspection was also carried out by Allan.Following the inspection the aircraft was drained of fuel, full engine oil added and cabin and its contents prepaired for the weighing. The aircraft was set up on the weighing cells and two readings taken. In this position plumb bobs dropped to the floor and station measurements taken for the weight computation.Mainly owing to the fact that the Airmaster constant speed propeller was installed weighing in at approx 26 Lbs aft ballast of 7.7 Lbs was required to be installed.I manufactured a aluminium plate and installed it just fwd of the tail spring assy inside the fuselage, picking up on the tail spring fwd attach plate and two addition bolts, nuts and retaining plate fwd of this. The lead weight was attached to the plate utilizing 3 anchor nuts and AN3 bolts.Final empty weight of the aircraft came in at 793 Lbs.All the necessary paperwork drawn up and has now been submitted so as to be able to obtain a permit to fly.
