made up a dual flap stop switch with two micro=switches from radio shack. This will shut power off to the flap motor when the flaps reach the full down position preventing the motor from burning up. Also wired up the SD8 standby alt circuit with regulator and filter and mounted above the VP-50 load center. Then I pretended to fly the RV8 from the copilot seat :)
