Brief Description:  Leading Edge Skin Top Edge Rivets

After laying out the top edge rivets location, the holes were drilled with a #40 bit. The skins and nose ribs were deburred, and the skins were clecoed in place. Using the head of a small tri-square, the top edge of the skins were clecoed clamped in place flush with the flange of the spar. Then the previously drilled holes were enlarged to a #30 bit, and the spar flanges were match drilled. The skins and spar flange were deburred with scotchbrite. Riveting was begun on the outboard skin panel. I had purchased a pneumatic rivet puller this morning at Harbor Freight thinking that would move the riveting process along, but that tool is going back tomorrow. Lots of problems with the rivet stems jamming in the jaws. Scratch that, I was able to get the riveter working properly. Much easier.
