The first task was to correct one of the nut-plates in the Right elevator re-inforcment plate. It seems that I mis-aligned the rivet holes, so that the nut-pate was not properly centered over the screw-hole. This would mean a mis-alligned and mal-fitting screw, which is not acceptable. So I drilled out the rivets, discardedthe (now dammaged) nut-plate and then installed a new nutplate using newly drilled rivet-holes The resut is very much better.
I am not too worried about possible structural issues relating to the extra rivet holes in the re-inforcing plate, because there is still plenty of metal between these holes and the nearest nieghboring edges and holes in the plate.
the repaired nut-plate - it is used to mount the trim control fairing
