So, the plan was to drill the #30 holes in the WD-415 trim tab control cable brackets and the E-616 cover plates. 8 holes. Should take 15 minutes. Would have, too, except that I didn't certer-punch before drilling. Not having a sufficiently narrow center punch was my main excuse, but I should have just done something else unitl I had the right center punch. Instead, I shortened up the drill bit, and forged ahead. One set turned out ok - not the best job, but acceptable. The other set is shown in fig 1. So now a new WD-415 cable bracket is on its way from Van's, and I hiave spent the last 2 hours fabricating a new E-616 cover plate from a spare piece of 0.032" 2024-T3.
