8/2/19 2.0 Hours Not productive. Borrowed turnbuckle from rudder. Hooked up ekevatir, Up/down of elevator works good. There is a problem with left/right of flaperon. The pivot point of the elevator bellcrank is off center the way it is designed, therefore when the flaperon is moved to the left the pivot moves up in effect reduceing the distance of the elevator cables and they become slack. To the right, the pivot point moves down increasing the distance, tighting the cables. Too late to call Zenith. Also, down elevator cable rubs on fuselage hole. Will have to address that.
8/3/19 3.0 Hours Re-mounted fin. Clamped flange pieces that go between fuselage rear sude skin and fin channel. Back drilled pilot holes and up drilled to A5, clecoing as I went. Marked drill line onto flang and removed. Drilled pilot holes. Re-installed flange and back drilled ithen up drilled nto fin channel.
8/4/19 2.0 Hours After re-watching HomebuiltHELP videos, looking on internet and photo manuals, I thought I'd try switching the two elevator cables to get the 90 deg between bellcrank and cables with elevator in neutral . Lone and behold, problem solved! Removed stab/elevator and enlarged hole in aft top fuselage for elevator cable refief. Remounted stab/elevator.
