Brief Description: Wing root skin, pitot/static system
4/7/20 2.5 Hours Started working on left wing root top skin It is all factory pre drilled. One thing; there is a row of pilot holes across skin about half way back. I assume a L angle goes there but it is not shown in either the drawings or photo manual. Made a L angle. Added some flutes to the L, otherwise the skin bubbles.
4/8/20 2.6 Hours Did the right wing root top skin as above. Removed the L angles and deburred. Riveted both L angels with A4 rivets. Clecoed both skins back into place Trimmed pitot/static lines at wing root to make connection. Reviewed HomeBuilt video on pitot/static test.
4/9/20 3.0 Hours Wanted to get the pitot/static system in prior to riveting the top root skin. Using Homebuilder Help tip for testing. System will not hold pressure. Trouble shooting. Found a couple of problems so far and leak slowed but still not holding.
4/10/20 3.7 Hours Continued trouble shooting pitot system. Finally found that the test eqipment connection to pitot was leaking. Doubled up on clamps and test passed (loss 7 kts in one minute, well within specs). Riveted root top skins into place..
