Brief Description:  Made HS hinge shims

I made permanant shims for the HS outer hinge brackets from .025" aluminum. With these, the vertical alignment is acceptably straight through all 5 hinge points. However, while doing checking that, it finally sank in that the horizontal (vertical when installed on the plane) alignment of the center bearing was clearly offset from the HS centerline. Somehow I missed that the HS spar webs weren't quite straight on the jig. The plane might fly OK like this but I don't like it. I've ordered new spar webs (HS-403). Luckily, the problem doesn't effect the spar strips, hinge brackets or any of the other work I've done. It should be easy to just match-drill the existing spar strips and hing brackets to the new webs when they arrive. Oh well. I've gotten the first major boo-boo out of the way. I'm sure there'll be more.
