I marked and drilled the HS spar strips today. It's a little fiddly and nerve-racking but I got it done. I measured the top strip with a tape measure and used a punch to mark the hole locations. I double-checked the locations and then drilled the hole to #40 on my drill press. I'll open the holes up to #30 once the HS skeleton is complete and I know I don't have to move anything. I used to top strip to match-drill the bottom strip. Then I spent a good bit of time checking the fit of the strips within the main spar webs. I'm having a little trouble getting the required (and supposedly critical) 2 7/8" spacing of the strips within the main webs. I'm about 1/64" shy of the mark. I sanded a bit on the strips to get them to fit better but haven't quite got it yet. Should be able to finialize the fit tomorrow and match drill the main spar webs.
