I spent most of today working on my Lincoln arc welder. First, I installed a longer power cord with the correct plug to match the one in my workshop. They don't make this easy and I had to open up the back panel to properly mount the new cord. After that, I continued building a rolling cart to move the thing around in my shop. It weighs about 100 pounds and doesn't have good handles. I made ok progress on it but I spent a lot of time figuring figuring out my new tools. Once I had power to the welder, I set about welding up the bottom frame of the cart. I had hoped that I would remember how but, after 25 years, I guess that was too much to ask. My welds are really sloppy and I'm glad I'm not planning to use this welder on any aircraft parts. Also, I had never really used a plasma cutter before. It took awhile before I could get the hang of just getting a cut going. Then I found that it was blowing the 20A 110V circuit I had plugged it into. I'll have to redo the power cord and set it up on 220V. Anyway, I managed to get most of the cart frame built. I'll probably finish it tomorrow.
