Brief Description: Arrive Redmond, start inventory and sand wings
First day at Lancair for the initial builder assist/training program. Spend the day sorting the hardware components and sanded the wings to prepare them for closing. Sanded the open bottom wing spars and other contact areas for bonding. No shiny surfaces are allowed. Attached and tightened fuel vents/check valves prior to closing top skin of wings. Later the mini NACA scoop will be cut thus allowing the venting and the pressure build up to occur. Wing were closed using a mix of HYSOL/FLOX at the right consistency then applied with trowel on the acetone cleaned up surfaces Initial consultation with avionics shop.
