Brief Description:  Wing bolts torqued and misc

I didnt take any pics today because there realy isnt any noticable changes. I did manage to fuss over this for 7 or 8 hours today but cant justify putting that many hours down. I can say Im worn out. My knees a hurting from kneeling on the wing walk and bending over the sides for most of the time it seems.

The 4 large 7/16 bolts on each wing needed a third washer and so I removed the nuts. Left side is hard to get to and takes awhile,Added the additional washers. Putting back on the nuts not terribly difficult but then trying to torque them to 450-500 in lbs is a whole other matter. Since I have the nuts fwd of the spar they are in with the fuel valve and lines and not easy to reach in at that angle now that the windscreen is on etc. Plus, 450 in lbs isquite a torque when you are trying to do it with one hand and trying to keep the bolt from turning with the other hand. I wasnt have much luck with torque on the left wing so I went to right side and had Brenda hold a wrench on the bolts while I torqued the nuts. That gave me a good enough idea ov "feel" of how much was needed and then went back to other wing and used a long box end rench and muscled it tight as I feel I used on the other side. I then torqued the other eight AN4 bolts to 70 in lbs without much problem. Also installed the final two bolts on the left side that I was having problems with yesterday. They are the two short bolts that go into the spar webb and plate nuts.

Put the bolys back in that secures the aileron push tubes to the center torque tube and torqued.

Added spiral wrap around wire bundles that go under aileron push tubes for slight rubbing on tubes.

Since I had to remover the fuel valve for better acces today, I then got to put it back in. Then attaching the fuel lines back up and tighten back to 1 1/2 flats or 1/4 turn method prooved difficult for some reason.

Put the lower right console back in and attached the molex connectors to the switches.

Brenda Started on the windscreen edge polishing again with the super fine p
