Brief Description:  Drill left and right rear wing spar bolt holes

Started off the day by re checking level. I decided to try an make the fuselage a bit more level longitudinaly. I was getting a difference of level from the right upper longeron to the the right. I decided to lay a couple of levels across the canopy. One in front and the other aft and then put another level between them down the center of the cockpit. This should average the slight differnce betwen the two. I ended up shimming the tai up a bit higher than it was by nearly a 1/4 inch but that was all I needed for a 0 degree on the level. I then had to adjust the wing incidence again which required droping othe wing rear spars down just a hair. Probably no more than 1/32 or so. The starnge thing was that they were almost back to where the were originaly yesterday before I did anything!. Im glad I checked to see where the bottom edge of the spar was in relation to the mounting bracket because I could clearly se that it was flush with the bottom of that bracket. I had forgotton that the rear spar bottom edge get slightly wider after it comes out of the wing. This is a good thing because it gives me that much more space for the min edge distance. Pic one below shows the rectangle I had avait to drill with in and have the min requirements met. After remarking both sides and then rechecking measurements multiple times and after eating lunch, I drilled a small wood block on the drill press to use as a guide for the first hole. I center punched the hole. Started a shallow hole with #40 so that I could tell if the bit was centered once I put the drill guide in place.
I then drilled the first run through with #40. Ok, no turning back now! Pic two shows the arsenel of drill bits up to 5/16. My 5/16 bit was a "undersize" reamer from avery. Its about a thousandth under normal. This worked real nice! Installed the required bolt and repeated on the other wing-after rechecking all levels and measurements again ofcourse! Very pleased at how well this came out.
