Brief Description:  rivit holes to top plate and cut in carb heat hole

I probably spent more than 1.5 hours on this today because I was trying to figure out how to do this carb heat door. To complicate it some, there is also a scat hose flange that goes on top that is not depicted in the plans anywhere I can find. Also, dont expect any measurements for this.

I basicly decided to leave enoug on fwg edge to rivit on a bafle fabric. That is where I decided to place my door hinge. I got a basic measurement for how tall the door will be and made sure the hinge is far enough fwd that the door wont interfear with the filter element.

I made a starting template of the opening and traced it on the top plate and marked the opening smaller so that the door will overlap when I make it. I also laid out the hinge position and then cut the hinge length down to fit. Need to rmember to reverse one hinge half before cutting length or you will need a redo part.

I figured out how I will position the sct duct on this too and traced the atach holes as well.

Note the tooling hole in pic. That was there already and made my hinge position such that the hole will be covered by the hinge.

Drilled a bunch of holes for the cut out and then cut hole to hole with dremel. I then smoothed out this initial cut out with a rotary cutter in the drill press and deburred.

I will probably try to determin the final hole sixe next and then work on making a door.

Measured and marked the remaining rivit holes required and then drilled them into the fab box and top plate flange. About 6 on each side
