Brief Description: FAB retainer clips-2 and Alt air bypass inlet-1
Cut down to a more sensable size the 6 clips I bent and cut yesterday. Debured and rounded the edges of clips clamped in position over each mount hole and matche drilled the 3/16 hole in each and cleco Drilled the two rivit holes for the plate nuts in each clip Test fit the air filter then set aside for some sanding and then riviting later
Decided to start the alternate air inlet and door Fit the top plate with filter in position in the air box and positioned the inlet flange and traced cut out Cut the opening roughly using asorted cutting implements available Smoothed the hole out via sanding and then slowly worked the opening up to 2 11/16" Study plans to figure out door operation and orientation on air box Laying under the carb with the airnbox and door assenbly, position towards my cable from firewall Marked flange orientation on to the airbox Match drilled the mounting holes from flange to the air box Countersink all 5 #30 drill holes and the two #40 plate nut rivit holes Bent the tab that holds door closed as depicted with a 1/16 bend radius Cut a 1/4inch stop tab and bent as well Had to trim the door so it would rotate without hitting the stop tab untill closed PPlans say to use tank sealant to make a gasket. I used fire barrier 2000 plus instead CClecoed the flange with sealant in place and then rivited with rivits All thats left is securing the door and cable to the flange and airbox.
6 filter retainer clips were drilled in place
Alternate air inlet flange installed in bottom of airbox
